Kalanithi Maran, media magnate and brother of Union Textiles Minister Dayanidhi Maran, struck a whopper of a deal when he bought a 37.75 per cent stake in SpiceJet at 25 per cent less than the market price. Kalanithi had been eying SpiceJet for a long time, but the deal finally took place in June.

Opposition protest over price rise a hoax: Vayalar Ravi  
New Delhi: Terming the protests over price rise by the opposition parties a "mere hoax", Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi Friday said the parties were "violating democracy" by disrupting both houses of parliament.

I’ve been trying to fathom the appeal of air shows. They are big business in the west and we’re at the height of the season right now. Last weekend, one-and-a-half lakh people flocked to RAF Fairford in the heart of rural England to watch a seven-and-a-half hour flying display. One of the highlights was the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
